過去的年代，機關都是有圍牆的，廣慈博愛院的圍牆似乎特別高，我們對他的一切，除了房舍、高聳的煙囪和水塔外，一無所知。隨著時間的累積，廣慈的樹木開始越過了圍牆、成了人行道的濃密樹蔭。
In the past, every governmental institution had high wall. Yet, it seems the wall at Guan-Tze Nursing House is especially high. We know nothing about it except housing, tall chimney and water tower. As time goes by, the trees in Guan-Tze begin to climb over the wall, becoming the dense tree shade for the sidewalk.
最近兩年，市政府辦理更新計畫，在籌備階段，將部分高牆及建築物拆除，闢建成簡易綠地讓鄰近居民休閒，使得神秘陌生的廣慈基地，一下子展現在鄰里居民的眼底，同時也發掘到我們的潛藏的幸福。原來不必跑遠，在我們的周遭就有這麼大片的綠地和樹木，提供我們芬多精和新鮮的氧氣。全台北市除了植物園、二二八公園及陽明山公園外，就屬我們的樹木最為古老與密集了！往西可看到101大樓，黃昏運氣好，往東南樹梢上望見的美麗彩虹。
In the recent two years, City Government begins renovation program. In the planning stage, part of the high wall and building will be torn down, becoming leisure greenery for neighborhood inhabitants. This makes this mysterious and strange Guan-Tze area exhibited before neighborhood inhabitants' eyes, at the same time digging out our dormant pleasures. We don't need to go far to enjoy Pythoncidere and fresh oxygen because in our neighborhood there is such a greenery and trees. In Taipei area, besides Botanic Garden, 228 Memorial Park and YangMingShan National Park, the trees at Guan-Tze are the oldest and dense. Toward west there is 101 Building. If lucky, at dusk toward south east, we can see beautiful rainbows on tree tops.
廣慈加上緊鄰的福德平宅共有6.4公頃，面積是臺北大安森林公園的四分之一。共有750棵平均樹齡在45歲以上的大樹，這是大安森林公園無可比擬的。信義區的公園很多，但都集中在信義計畫區，廣慈附近僅有小的鄰里公園。
There is 6.4 hecters of land in Guan-Tze and its neighboring flat housing units, 0ne fourth of Taipei TaiAn Forest Park. There are 750 trees with age over 45 years old. This TaiAn Forest Park can not compare with. There are a lot of parks in HsinYi area, concentrating in HsinYi Planning Area. Guan-Tze has little borough parks.
除了大樹以外，在公園中有一作蔣公銅像，是民國68年創院十週年時，由院民集資24萬，請國內知名雕塑家楊英風先生恭塑的。他受院民精神感召，不計報酬以奉獻之精神，完成百萬造價之作品，果然是出於名家之手，蔣公銅像栩栩如生。
In addition to big trees, there is a ChiangKaiShiek bronze statute sitting in the park, which in 1979, the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Nursing House, the inhabitants of Guan-Tze collected 240 thousands NT and invited the famous sculptor Mr. Yin-Feng, Yang to build. Mr. Yang finished this million dollars' work out of spiritual recall of the inhabitants and the spirit of dedication without caring for the cost. Out of the famous sculptor's hands, this bronze sculptor is lively.
博愛院後圍牆邊中央位置，有一高聳的煙囪，官方說法是為長者及孩童每天煮洗澡用的熱水，但是有另一說即這煙囪是火化院民遺體的，如果傳說屬實在那個年代就設置獨立火葬場，可設想得可真是周到。
At the backyard wall corner's central position of Guan-Tze, there is a tall chimney. It is said officially that it is for burning the hot bathing water for the elderly and children everyday. But others said that it is used for creamation of inhabitants' body. If that is true, the establshment of independent creamatory can be thought of as very considerate.
院內水塔是位在前圍牆邊靠左邊位置，約有五、六層樓高，塔下還有很大的蓄水池，（不在現在開放範圍），供應全廣慈的用水，可想而知院民洗熱水澡時，水壓應該像在觀光飯店洗澡一樣過癮。
The water tower in Guan-Tze is located near the left position at front wall, 5 to 6 floors high. Under the water tower there is a big water storage tank (not open now), providing for Guan-Tze inhabitants' use. It can be known that the water pressure should be good as in a tourist hotel.
鄰近廣慈後面一巷之隔的福德平宅，有六棟房舍，其中二棟已搬遷完畢，正在拆除當中，其他四棟居民，也陸續搬遷當中。周遭巷道及兩棟房舍間的樹木，都已長的扶疏有致，頗有可觀。共同為這塊區域居民製造新鮮空氣與宜人的綠意。
An alley's away neighboring Guan-Tze, Fu-Der Flat House has 6 housing units. Two of them relocate, and are being torn down. The other 4 are being moving out. The trees in the neighboring alleys and between the 2 housing units are growing up, spectacular, producing fresh air and confortably green for the inhabitants of this area.
有了森林公園，里長在此放了桌椅讓大家休憩。鄰居在此聚會聊天下棋、有一組人每天在樹蔭下誦經、有三個家庭週末在空曠的綠地打球、有居民在溜狗、小孩騎腳踏車，耍寶；晚上夜涼如水，婦女結集跳排舞、也是散心好去處。。。大家開始感受到有綠地公園的幸福！
Because of the forest park, the alley chief put tables and chairs there for people to relax. Neighborhood people would gather there chatting and playing chess. There is a group of people chanting Buddha scripts in the tree shade everyday. 3 families play ball in the open greenery on weekends. Some people walk the dog. Children ride bicycle, or playing. In the night it is cool as water. Women gather to rehearse dancing. A good place to relax. People begin to realize the pleasure of having greenery.
景不長，我們的幸福轉眼即將結束，BOT案已於日前（2009-6-12）決標。按造合約規定，很快土地要交付由廠商圍籬管理，樹木將全數移走，僅保存符合樹木保護標準的五棵樹，開發後的公園將座落在地下停車場之上，像在大型盆景上新栽樹木，現在的森林景觀即將永遠消失。
Yet, the good are going. Our pleasure will soon vanish. Build-Operate-Transfer planning bid has been made. According to the contract, this land will be entrusted to the building company for management and be closed. Trees will be removed, with only 5 remaining which are complied with the tree protection standard. Cultivated park will situated on an underground parking lot, just like cultivating trees on a big potted landscape. The current forest landscape will vanish forever.
